With a record of 2-1, Team Brad Jacobs is slated to return to action on Friday against Team Glenn Howard at the Canadian Open, a Grand Slam of Curling event in North Battleford, Sask.
Start time for the match between the Sault rink and Howard’s foursome from Penetanguishene, Ont., is 7:30 p.m. Sault time.
Team Jacobs, which also features third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden, moved into the Friday evening clash following Thursday night’s 7-6 victory over Winnipeg’s Braden Calvert.
The Canadian Open is a six-day, 32-team (16 men’s, 16 women’s) triple-knockout competition.
Teams must win three games before losing three in order to advance into the playoff round.
A win over Team Howard would guarantee the Jacobs rink a berth in the B Event finals.
The goal there would be to advance to the A Event playoffs.
Action continues on Saturday leading up to Sunday’s men’s final, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sault time.
