The Quinte Mosquito Royals baseball team captured the 2019 Royals Summer Sensation Baseball Tournament held this past weekend in Trenton. The Royals combined solid pitching and timely hitting throughout the weekend with a 5-1 record including a 19-1 win in the championship game versus the Seaway Surge from Ottawa. The Royals lineup includes: Nolan Reitzel, Ethan Thompson, Colin Launderville, Jack Stitt, Conner Boates, Cohen Bedore, Pearson MacDonald, Garren Taylor, Brendan Reid, Josh Thomas, and Alex Bisset. The Royals now set their focus back on the regular season of the Eastern Ontario Baseball Association. jpg, BI

Men’s fastball

MJG Electrical Red Sox clobbered Master Bedroom 14-1 in Thursday Night Men’s Fastball League action at Alemite Field.

Will Claus picks up the win on the mound, giving up one hit and one walk with four strikeouts in four innings of work. John Lamorre itched one inning of relief, giving up two walks, while striking out two. Brian Courneyea took the loss for Master Bedroom.

Ryan Foote paced the Red Sox offence with two hits and three runs batted in, while Will Claus, Etan Green, Ben Emerson, and Tim Card, two hits and two RBIs each, and Scott Hayes, two hits.

In the other game, Barry Danford & Sons trounced Duvall and Clark 8-0. Scoring details were not made available.

Ball hockey

WWW.Investmentguy.ca whipped Janbar Electric 5-1 last Thursday in Mill Street Organic Men’s Ball Hockey League action at CAA Arena.

Jordan Freeland scored twice for Investment Guy, while Jeff Broekema and Tyler Soule each added a goal and two assists, and Kyle Hawkins Shultz, a goal and an assist. Mick Moore scored the lone goal for Janbar Electric.

County Kings beat Propertyguys.com 5-3.

Cole St. Pierre scored twice for County Kings, while Walker Deroche and Ben Wilson each had a goal and an assist, and Andrew Ward, one goal. Kyle Kiddle had a goal and an assist for Propertyguys.com, while Theo Citrullo and Jordan Pond also scored.

Cooney Auto hammered Dynamic Exteriors 10-0.

Jacob Panetta had three goals and an assist, while Evan Greer added two goals and an assist, Tyler Poole, two goals, Dan Cozzi, a goal and two assists, Kevin Bailee and Devin McCann, a goal and an assist apiece, and Jarrod Gliddon, one goal. Greg Parker earned the shutout.

On Monday, the Predators doubled the County Kings 10-5.

Jack Dow had three goals for the Preds, while Karsten Leonard added two goals and an assist, Bailey Maracle and Bailey Matthews, a goal and an assist apiece, and Owen Dever, Riley St Pierre and Derrick Vos, a goal each. Cole St. Pierre and Alex Ward both had two goals and an assist for the Kings, with Chase Eaton adding a goal and two helpers.

The Purple Cobras hammered Dynamic Exteriors 8-0, with Matt Loveys recording the shutout.

Evan Foley had two goals and two assists, while Tristan Nugent also scored twice, Brad McConnell, a gola and two assists, Dan Ulrick, a goal and an assist, and Beau Tolls and Brock Tufts, one goal each.

Brandon Dafoe had a goal and an assist, with Pieter Kort also scoring. Doug Way earned the shutout.

Cooney Auto whipped Crossfit Stratos 6-0, with Greg Parker picking up the clean sheet.

Dan Cozzi and Evan Greer both had two goals and an assist, while Tyler Green and Jason Shaw scored the other goals.

Golf tourney

The 30th Annual Crime Stoppers Inc. Golf Tournament is set for Thursday, June 20 at Trillium Wood Golf Club.

Crime Stoppers Quinte has always run its program bare bones with only one part time staff member to facilitate over 500 tips per year from the local community. Since it’s inception Crime Stoppers Quinte has helped recover more than $20 million as a direct result of anonymous tips submitted to them and then forwarded on to police services.

Registration begins at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The registration fee is $125 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, power cart, steak dinner, prizes and silent auction.
