Rebels win Jr. B lacrosse opener

The Six Nations Rebels opened their Ontario Lacrosse Association junior B season with a huge home win against Elora.

Facing the Mohawks on Friday, Six Nations took an 8-2 first-period lead and never looked back on its way to a 21-6 victory.

Marshall Powless had a massive game for the Rebels, scoring five goals and adding eight assists for 13 points. Also making huge offensive contributions were Weylon Abrams (5G, 3A), Wes Whitlow (2G, 6A), Chayton King (2G, 3A) and Sidney Powless (2G, 3A).

Briley Miller was the winner in goal.

The Rebels return to the floor this weekend for a Thursday game in Windsor at 8 p.m. followed by a home game on Friday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena versus the Point Edward Pacers at 8 p.m.
