Sr. Rangers take on Rideaus Saturday

Two undefeated teams will be facing off against each other in Cardinal this weekend.

The South Grenville Sr. Rangers will host the Smiths Falls Rideaus in an EOSHL game at Ingredion Centre on Saturday night; puck drops at 8. Spectators can do their COVID screening online on the day of the game before arriving at the Cardinal rink.

The Rangers (3-0-1) are tied for first place in the East Division; Smiths Falls leads the West Division.

South Grenville’s Jordie Dodge leads the 12-team league with eight goals and is in third place in the scoring race with 12 points.

In other senior league action on Saturday, the Gananoque Islanders (1-2) host the Glengarry Pipers (2-1-1) at 7:30 p.m.

As for the Jr. C Rangers, they have two road games this weekend. South Grenville (4-0-1) plays the Vankleek Hill Cougars (2-3) on Saturday at 7:20 and then takes on Gatineau Hull-Volant on Sunday at 4.

The Rangers are second overall in the nine-team NCJHL. South Grenville’s Jacob Servage and Owen Webster are tied for second in goals with six, while teammate Cooper Kingston is third in points with 11.
