Global feed sales increase

Alltech reported a three per cent increase of feed sales based on its global survey.

Last year 1.103 billion tonnes of feed was produced; it’s the third consecutive year with volumes of more than one billion tonnes.

The survey includes data from 144 countries and almost 30,000 feed mills. It’s the eighth year Alltech has done the survey.

The eighth edition of the annual survey includes data from 144 countries and nearly 30,000 feed mills.

The feed industry has grown by 14.6 per cent over the past five years.

The top eight countries are China, the U.S., Brazil, Russia, India, Mexico, Spain and Turkey. They produce 55 per cent of the world’s feed have 59 per cent of the world’s feed mills.

The largest increases were feeds for laying hens, broilers and dairy cattle.
