The Boyne Personal Care Home Project received a $2,500 boost from Wawanesa Insurance recently.

“Giving back to our communities is one of our key values, and we deliver funding support to more than 400 charitable organizations each year,” said Mohammed Subhan, spokesperson for Wawanesa Insurance. “We donate with the goal of making our communities brighter, healthier, and more vibrant places to live.”

Subhan presented a $2,500 cheque in support of the Personal Care Home project in Carman to Les Vanderveen, Boyne Care committee member and Robert Bryson of Newman Hand Insurance. Wawanesa was invited to support local community projects by their business affiliate Robert Bryson of Newman Hand Insurance.

A Canadian mutual fund company owned by its policyholders, Wawanesa Insurance, has small-town roots. Having been founded in Wawanesa, Manitoba more than 120 years ago. Now headquartered in Winnipeg, it is one of the largest property and casualty insurers in Canada, and also has operations in California and Oregon in the U.S.
