Kingston Police were called after an altercation over a school board support sticker took place between two women before the Limestone District School Board’s February meeting on Wednesday night.
As members of the public were filing into the board office’s meeting room just before 6 p.m., one woman was seen ripping a large sticker from another woman‘s hand.
The room was full, with people both showing support for the board and others upset with a number of decisions the board has made recently.
Police were called and an officer spoke with one of the women by the end of the meeting. The other went to police headquarters to make her report.
Const. Ash Gutheinz said that “no charges were laid and both parties were satisfied with police intervention and mediation.”
