Some downtown streets will be closed Saturday for the 98th annual Rotary Community Day Parade.

Queen Street East, from Elizabeth Street to Church Street, and the lower part of Church Street from Queen Street East, will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to noon., a release says.

The parade runs from Queen Street East to Gore Street. The route will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to about 1 p.m. when the parade ends.

No parking will be allowed on Queen Steet East, from Church Street to Andrew Street, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Any vehicle found parking along the parade route after 9:30 a.m. will be towed.

Motorists are reminded construction on Bay Street will slow traffic on that road after the parade.

Anyone wanting to travel on Highway 17 east, or north, of Sault Ste. Marie should use Carmen’s Way.
