OPP make arrest for theft

On August 15, 2019, at approximately 12:00 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a theft of two cell phones at the Waterfront Pool & Fitness Centre on Wellington Street South in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario.

Shortly after, officers arrived on scene, located and arrested the suspect. Both phones were recovered by police.

As a result of police investigation, Sonya DEERING, a 29-year-old Temiskaming Shores resident, has been charged with Theft Under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused has been released on a Promise to Appear with conditions and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on August 27, 2019, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
