Hunting licence fee frozen

Ontario will not increase hunting licence fees in 2019.

A two dollar service fee is also removed for this year, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says.

Hunting regulations are updated. Changes include a new licence summary that can be stored on a mobile device or printed at home. Paper tags replace game seals.

In addition, active and retired members of the Canadian military service can fish for free in the province.

Valid identification from Department of National Defence or Veteran Affairs Canada is needed.

Anyone with a fishing licence can get a prorated refund, a release says.
