Grey County OPP were kept busy on the roads on Friday afternoon as they responded to 15 motor vehicle collisions between 1 and 5 p.m.
Of the 15 collisions, three involved multiple vehicles, one involved a tractor trailer and another involved an ambulance responding to a call. There were injuries reported, but none were considered life-threatening, police said in a news release.
That day motorists were asked to avoid any unnecessary travel due to poor weather and road conditions and several roads were closed.
“During severe weather events, motorists are reminded to monitor the media outlets for updates, including road closures,” it said in the news release. “Motorists are also reminded that driving on a closed road is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act. Doing so puts you and your passengers at risk and it puts police and all emergency responders at risk who come to your aid.”
