SENIORS AND TECHNOLOGY: Thursday, Oct. in Swisha from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the municipal hall (48 rue de lʼEglise) the Seniors Network from the Pontiac will host the Technology Learning Centre. There will be people to answer any and all questions regarding the use of cellphones, tablets and computers. Not all of us are familiar with the fast changing technology, and you will be able to have one on one time with a facilitator to walk you through the tech problems you face. They also will be looking for your needs for tech support in the future.
SHUFFLEBOARD: Shuffleboard could be your thing – come and try it. Cobden Seniors sponsoring this free at the Legion on Main Street, upstairs at 1:15 p.m. each Thursday of the month.
MEN’S RESOURCE CENTRE: Oct. 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. AutonHomme Pontiac, a Resource Centre for men, will be at Lanceʼs Convenience in Swisha to distribute gunlocks and hand out information on the group’s services. This includes helping with financial worries, problems with the law, alcohol or drug problems, looking for a safe place to live, and suicide prevention. HOCHTOBERFEST: Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hoch Farm Killaloe just off Hwy. 60. Featuring German cuisine, and live music by the Terry Eggert Band. While there visit The Pioneer Farm House Museum and there will be displays of Killaloe’s early German settlement.
ANTLER CONTEST: Attention Hunters! After a few years without this event, the Association Plein Air RDJ Outdoorsmen is putting on the Antler Contest again. This event is open to club members, and memberships are still available. The contest is open for both bow and rifle, and entry must be paid for by Saturday, Oct. 12. There will be prizes awarded for the biggest antlers for moose and deer, and also the antlerless females. Please contact Debbie Foley at 613-586-9340 to enter and ask any questions.
