4 face drug trafficking charges

Four area residents face drug trafficking charges after police executed search warrants in Kapuskasing and Hearst last Friday.

On the morning of Sept. 6, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence on De L’Etang Boulevard in the Town of Kapuskasing and on a motor vehicle on Front Street in the Town of Hearst.

The occupants of the residence and of the motor vehicle were arrested.

Police have seized suspected controlled substances, a firearm and ammunition, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency with a combined estimated street value of $17,000.

Ronald Landriault, 46, of Kapuskasing, has been charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine;

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine;

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone;

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000; and

• Two counts of Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition.

Landriault was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on Nov. 28 to answer to the charges.

Tricia Anderson-Landriault, 50, of Kapuskasing, has been charged with the following offences:

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine;

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine;

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone; and

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on Oct. 28, to answer to the charges.

Keven Lavigne-Rousseau, 30, of Fauquier, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine.

He was also charged with Possession of Illicit Cannabis contrary to section 8(1) of the Cannabis Act (CA).

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on Oct. 28, to answer to the charges.

Stefan Lizotte, 41, of Kapuskasing, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone.

He was also charged with Possession of Illicit Cannabis.

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on Oct. 28, to answer to the charges.
