$18,000 drugs seized, names of accused released in Bloem St. drug bust

Cocaine, morphine and percocet pills were among some of the drugs seized Tuesday following a search warrant in the 600 block area of Bloem Street.

The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit seized 123 grams of cocaine, 11 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 28 morphine pills, 13 Percocet pills, three suboxone pills and $2,400 in Canadian currency.

The street value of the drugs seized is $18,833.

As a result of the investigation police arrested six individuals at the location.

Investigators have charged Ashley Dufresne, 36-year-old of North Bay with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking morphine, possession for the purpose of trafficking percocet and possession of suboxone.

Tayshaun Kolevski, an 18-year-old man from Scarborough is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of a prohibited weapon, fail to comply with recognizance and possession of property obtained by crime.

Vincent Reid, an 18-year-old man from Scarborough is charged possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, three counts of fail to comply with recognizance and possession of property obtained by crime.

Naveen Lotfi, an 18-year-old man from Scarborough has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession of prohibited weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.

All four individuals charged were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse. The two other individuals that had been arrested were released unconditionally.
