The Gathering Music Festival has expanded its format to bring together emerging Canadian indie rock bands and music industry experts for an intimate three day summit in the Rocky Mountains running Wednesday, Feb. 20th through to Friday, Feb. 22nd. In a series style format, live shows are taking place at the Banff Springs concert stage and the Rose and Crown pub in Banff.

Director of the Gathering Music Festival, Chris Jerome said last week the fourth Gathering Music Festival is set to be a good one with the newly added exclusive secret shows.

“This year we have expanded to a three day music series, featuring Canadian artists all throughout the summit. We’re featuring a lineup stacked with emerging Canadian Talent including: Dear Rouge and Yukon Blonde, Indie rockers from Vancouver BC, who co-headline a double bill Wednesday evening at the Banff Springs, which those lucky enough to be in Banff for can RSVP for a ticket while the space lasts. Both bands are up again this year for Juno’s related to their albums,” said Jerome.

“Dear Rouge will also play a VIP secret show Friday February 22nd, guests can win access to. The Gathering also has four artists playing at the Rose and Crown on Friday February 22nd and featuring the edgy electronic band Holy F*CK, who began in Nova Scotia and have now transplanted to Toronto and New York City.

“Beach Season will be proudly representing their home town Calgary with their unmistakable smooth pop jams. Taking the stage for the final two sets will be Hip Hop and Rap legend and former member of UGK, Bun B. Bun B has been brought out in a collaboration with the music publication and music series The Fader and Fader Fort. Joining Bun B will be Cadence Weapon originally from Edmonton back on his home turf, we can’t wait to hear his anthem Conor McGregor.”

Jerome added The Gathering Music is for anyone visiting Banff, for locals and all music enthusiasts.

“Our Wednesday evening show is all ages at the Banff Springs Hotel. Our Friday evening show is 18 plus at The Rose and Crown.”
